Terms of Service

These terms govern access to salary research, department submissions, and premium planning tools offered by Fire Department Ranks.

Effective January 5, 2025

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing Fire Department Ranks or creating an account, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you represent a department, union, or municipality, you confirm that you are authorized to bind that organization.

We may update these terms when we release new features or comply with regulation. Material changes are announced via email or product notices with the updated effective date.

2. Accounts & Contributions

Account holders must provide accurate identification and maintain the confidentiality of their credentials. You are responsible for activity that occurs under your login.

Departments and unions that contribute salary schedules, MOUs, or staffing updates grant Fire Department Ranks a license to host, analyze, and publish those materials for public reference.

3. Acceptable Use

Do not misuse the platform by scraping data, attempting unauthorized access, or distributing information that you do not have rights to share.

Salary benchmarks may be downloaded for individual department planning, but commercial redistribution or paid reporting requires written permission.

4. Payment & Subscriptions

Optional paid plans are billed in advance based on the term you select. Renewal occurs automatically unless cancelled at least 3 business days before the next billing cycle.

We may suspend accounts with unresolved invoices. Upgrades or downgrades take effect at the start of the next billing term unless otherwise specified.

5. Accuracy of Information

We review contributed data for clarity, but departments remain responsible for the accuracy of salary tables, benefits, and job descriptions they submit.

Please notify us at [email protected] if you discover discrepancies so we can issue corrections quickly.

6. Disclaimers & Liability

Fire Department Ranks provides informational benchmarks and planning tools without warranties of performance in hiring, promotion, or negotiations.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our liability for damages is limited to the amount paid for services in the previous six months. Some jurisdictions do not allow such limitations, so they may not apply to you.

7. Termination

You may terminate your account at any time through your dashboard or by contacting support. We may suspend or end access for violations of these terms or legal requirements.

Upon termination we will disable account access, but you may request copies of contributed materials or purge of personal data consistent with our retention policy.
